My journey self publishing my latest book

I'll come right out and say it. Self publishing is not for the weak! Most authors are comfortable writing their stories, always starting a new one when the current is done.

Self published authors do that, and are responsible for hiring an editor, formatting the book, graphic design, promotions, and much more. It's enough to make anyone's head spin.

I wasn't expecting to write my first book, let alone release it to the world. The concept came about as a quick throw away conversation at work, but the idea stuck with me. I knew the content wasn't going to get me published, so I turned to self publishing. I read through many threads about self publishing on Goodreads, Facebook, Reddit, and Twitter. I thought I had a handle on it, but I was wrong. I saw mediocre results, but was happy that someone was taking the time to buy my work.

I've kept on plugging away, wrote a sequel to that first book, and also saw mediocre success. All the while I've grown my social media following. I've now completed my first full length new adult novel, My New Roommate. I hope the efforts I'm putting in behind the scenes help when the book is officially released on October 11th.
